Many businesses have spent the last year or two in a recovery cycle, fighting for every dollar. We have started to see a shift in the local economy so now is a good time to start thinking bigger, thinking about what’s next, what’s working and what’s not.

So what is a strategy meeting?

A strategy session or coaching workshop is a dedicated forum where you are away from your daily tasks and responsibilities, it is where you have given yourself permission to focus on

1. Defining a new strategy or direction for your business

2. To evaluate what’s working and what’s not with your current direction

3. To brainstorm solutions to develop an action list for how you’ll reach your goals

4. To establish benchmarks

5. Define your destination and priorities.

Who should be at a strategy session?

Who should attend depends on where you are in business. If a strategy session is new to you, then you potentially will want to have an initial two-hour session with us, followed up by a session with your management team or key personnel. Having an independent facilitator gives you the opportunity and freedom to think and contribute, as opposed to thinking about how the session should run and potentially what your preconceived outcomes might be. Having a facilitator also helps manage office politics and group dynamics, not to mention personal biases, and challenging you on a problem that continues to be unresolved.

What is the outcome of a strategy meeting?

A strategy session will give you a high-level action plan that you can take back to your business and then develop a 90-day action plan. There will be components of the plan which you will want to be responsible for, and their will be components which you will want to tease out with your team.
